“I came to Cathy for coaching as I’d recently had a health scare and was looking at ways to move forward after treatment.

There have been lots of benefits. I’d say the main standouts are understanding my own hooks and responses, recognising my feelings when they arise and having the tools to accept them, especially difficult feelings. Also having positive steps to move forward, which are simple and manageable.

I’m more able to recognise when my thoughts are becoming overwhelming and I’m using a tool that Cathy shared to plan activities and prioritise the things I care about. It’s been a very positive experience. Coaching has been a safe space to understand where I am now and where I want to be, and it has provided me with some tools to make positive changes.

“I contacted Cathy when I had a creative block and wanted to explore ways to get past it. Coaching offered a proactive approach to look at the feelings I have around doing creative things. Where I can observe what happens when and where the feelings come from.

After spending time with Cathy I can now take time to notice how I feel about doing certain things and also how to break repetitive cycles. Coaching helps you look at how you feel now, and then explore these feelings to help you move forward towards the things you really want. It was a worthwhile experience. I would recommend it.”

“I was going through a significant life change in terms of work and decided to take voluntary redundancy to focus on setting up a new business. I knew that it’d be a difficult decision to come to and a complex process to go through, with lots of fluctuating emotions so I wanted to surround myself with as much support as possible to help me through the transition.

I’ve really benefited from having regular meetings with Cathy. I benefited from having someone who was focused on my development and who I could check in with regularly – someone who understood the difficulties that come with change. I will continue to use the techniques I’ve discovered that help me sustain momentum as a self-employed person.

Being coached has been such a holding, supportive and beneficial experience for me. It’s helped support me through such a big transition in my life and has enabled me to… keep up the belief in myself. It’s been amazing.”

“I am at a point in my life with a lot of change and stress and also my confidence was quite low. I wanted to look at ways to change that.

The main thing that will stay with me is that just because I think something about myself or a situation or what someone thinks that doesn’t mean it’s true, it’s a thought that I can challenge… There is often another perspective.

It was really nice to work with someone who was focused on listening to what I had to say and what I wanted to achieve in a kind and compassionate way, especially as being a mother my needs don’t often seem to come first!

“I’d never done anything like this before but as I’ve come to a crossroads in my life and want to change career I thought I’d give it a go!

Since I’ve had coaching, my confidence has improved. I now have the tools to move forward with what I want in life. Sometimes it takes talking to someone to remember who you are and what you are really worth.

I now have the confidence to find another career. I’ve also given myself a five year plan. I found my time with Cathy to have been re-energising, confidence building and well worth having.”
